In line with the Prime Minister’s directives, District Health Officer Islamabad, Dr. Syeda Rashida Batool, accompanied by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Islamabad and DG Health Services CDA/MCI, visited PIMS Hospital and Federal Government Polyclinic Hospital Islamabad. The visit aimed to assess the availability of tertiary healthcare services, review service delivery, and evaluate patient care to ensure the provision of quality healthcare facilities.

Under the Prime Minister’s Hepatitis C Screening Program, comprehensive screening is underway across health facilities in Islamabad under the supervision of District Health Officer Dr. Syeda Rashida Batool. Dedicated healthcare teams at RHCs in Tarlai, Sihala, Rawat, Shah Allah Ditta, Golra, Sohan, Bhara Kahu, and Police Line, along with outreach staff, are working to ensure accessible screening services for the community.

She also appreciated NUST School of Health Sciences, particularly the School of Community Medicine, for its efforts to promote breast cancer awareness.

District Health Officer Islamabad, Dr. Syeda Rashida Batool, attended the launch of the National Anaemia Reduction Plan 2025–2030, which aims to reduce anaemia among women and adolescent girls by 50% by 2030. She highlighted DHO Islamabad’s efforts to strengthen primary healthcare, improve access to essential medical services, and promote community-level public health initiatives. The plan focuses on better nutrition, iron and folic acid supplementation, and improved screening and treatment services.

The Federal Minister appreciated the DHO Islamabad’s efforts to provide timely and quality healthcare services to the public and emphasized strengthening the primary healthcare system. The Annual Journal Book was also presented to Health Secretary Mr. Aslam Ghori, who appreciated the efforts of the District Health Office.
